Holding The Line is an online novel set during the events of Wing Commander: Prophecy. Prophecy tells the story of the first Nephilim invasion of our space, but it left several questions unanswered. It was speculated during Prophecy (and later confirmed in Wing Commander: Secret Ops) that the Nephilim fleet got as far as the Union Of Border Worlds and the frontier systems of the Confederation before it was stopped. Who stopped them, and how? What kinds of battles were being fought on the Frontier while the crew of the Midway tried to destroy the Nephilim beachhead? How well did Confed and

the Border Worlders work together after having fought each other less than a decade earlier?

I and a group of about two dozen other writers from the Wing Commander Aces Club decided in 1999 to write a story that would answer those questions, while spinning a cracking good yarn in the process. Just as importantly, we wanted to ensure that fiction writing would remain an active and thriving part of the online Wing Commander community.
